• Homeowner project details: street address, project scope, photos, timeline, insurance details you choose to share.
• Contractor information: business name, license and insurance documentation, service area, and profile content.
• Offers and deals: quotes submitted, accepted, or withdrawn on the platform.
• Usage data: pages viewed, features used, device and browser metadata, IP address.

How we use information

• To operate the marketplace — matching projects with contractors, transmitting offers, and enabling communication after an offer is accepted.
• To verify contractor licensure, insurance, and eligibility.
• To send transactional notifications (new offers, accepted offers, account emails).
• To detect fraud, enforce our Terms, and comply with legal obligations.

What contractors can see

Contractors browsing open projects see a masked summary — city, ZIP prefix, scope, and photos with the street address removed. Full contact information and the exact street address are revealed only after a homeowner accepts a contractor's offer.

Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with:

• The contractor or homeowner you have chosen to transact with.
• Service providers acting on our behalf (hosting, email delivery, analytics) under confidentiality obligations.
• Authorities when required by law or to protect the safety of users.

Email

Transactional emails are sent from notify.detroitroofexchange.com. Every email includes an unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing stops non-essential emails but does not affect security or account emails required to operate your account.

Your choices

• Access, update, or delete your account by contacting us at the address below.
• Unsubscribe from marketing email at any time via the link in any message.
• Michigan residents may request a copy of the personal information we hold about them.

Retention

We retain project, offer, and deal records for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward to resolve disputes, comply with legal obligations, and enforce our agreements.

Security

We use industry-standard safeguards — encrypted transport, row-level database security, and hashed passwords with breach-check screening. No system is perfectly secure; report suspected incidents immediately.
